Done with the MFA...
And just like that, grad school was over.
My graduation ceremony was Friday evening. I spent the hours leading up to it trying my best not to throw up--I was a tad nervous about singing the National Anthem in front of everybody. Luckily, it went just fine. I may have been an octave too low for the Alma Mater, but I doubt anybody would have been the wiser.
Between work and the Japan trip, I have a rough idea of how my life will go from now until the end of July--not many specifics, but I know that I'll be busy until I leave, and busy the moment I get back. No rest for the wicked, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Where are the Sands of Time when you need 'em?
I graduate with my master's degree in ten days. Never have I known such dread.
I've been juggling anime adaptations and my thesis script lately, if by "juggling," I mean tossing a carton's worth of eggs into the air and letting them splatter all over the ground, one after the other. Work has taken precedence, as it has ever since January, and boy oh boy am I paying the piper right about now.
Saying I'm cutting it a bit close with the whole thesis approval/submission process is like saying Sylvia Plath felt blue on occasion.
But enough of that. I'm walking without the crutches--have been for about a week now. That might not be the best way to deal with an ailing ankle, but it got to the point where the pain in my hands and wrists from using them was far worse than whatever unhappiness my ankle registered having to walk normally. The X-ray this Thursday will tell the tale.
It looks like I'll be going to Japan for about a week and a half next month, which should be big-time fun. I've never been to Japan. Y'know, seeing as how anime is my bread and butter, I should get to its country of origin at least once. Hey, I wonder if I can write off my travel expenses?
