    Apologies of both the general

Apologies of both the general and specific kind to anybody who actually frequents my journal expecting updates—the former because I fear I’m a piss-poor source of entertainment, and the specific because I haven’t posted squat in just shy of two weeks.

I had, though, a pretty good excuse. The usual end-of-the-quarter crunch kept me busy with schoolwork right up through last week, at which point that ended and I was suddenly no less busy with VO work and the like. And now, just as I was all set to settle down for the proverbial long winter’s nap, it looks as though I’ll be moving sometime in the next two or three weeks.

If you’re taken aback to hear of these moving plans out of left field, join the club. A week ago, they didn’t exist.

Luckily, I treated myself to a relatively nice, spacious apartment here in Riverside, so when I move out into the greater L.A. area, it won’t be a matter of my paying more so much as it’ll be my paying a comparable amount for less square footage. I’m looking at a few places tomorrow morning before knocking out some VO work, and one of the apartments in particular sounds so good as to make me suspicious. The reasonability of the rent just doesn’t jive with the square footage unless it’s missing a roof, or unless it’s a walled off portion of an old, abandoned boxcar.

And for anybody who’s still holding a grudge over my leaving the site to its own entropic devices lately, here’s a foolishly wonderful discount on anime, courtesy of Right Stuff, Int.

A Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD Box Set for only $39.99! (save $129.99!)

    Coupon Code: 12days

    Expires: 12/24/04 @ 11:59 P.M. CST

oh, boy. may you have better luck this time around in L.A.

move to The Valley. it rocks! strip mall, after strip mall.

    ;p

and if anyone you hasn't seen A Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's definitely worth $40. that's a fantastic deal. and what kind of anime fan are you anyway, if you haven't already seen it?! ;)

i can hear the theme song now...

Well then...Good luck in LA...Just when I was going to ask you if you wanted to come around more often. Anyway, it seems the impetus - as abrupt as it may be - is a good rather than bad thing. We look forward to more details in the future.

Muaaaah. Mr. Seitz is moving into my turf, less than two miles from my doorstep. So that means I'm going to be able to bug him daily, and say, "So, how many brilliant words did you write today, you uber-talented young motherfucker?"

Seriously, though, it'll be great to have you in the neighborhood. The collective IQ of Valley Village just went up by a good hundred points. Er... is about to.

And welcome to 2005. The naughts (nulls? zeros? zips?) are already almost half over. In the words of Hugh Grant in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (and Paul Giamatti in "Sideways") "Fuck!" (Great movie, by the way. See it if you haven't; a marvelous, character-driven story; bonus points if you're a California native.)
