November 09, 2004Pirate napkins? And here it isn't even my birthday...
The napkin pictured below, which I discovered at my mom's house today when I went over for lunch, is easily the coolest thing I saw all day. Somebody gave her these pirate napkins, believe it or not. There weren't many left, but I snagged all of 'em.
And this is a link to the coolest thing I saw yesterday...

CommentsSeveral years back certain members of my family and I were at a Mother's Day brunch. The fare was mediocre, but just edible enough to keep us from complaining verbally. I suppose because it was a buffet, there were no regular napkins at the tables. It took a bit of hunting to discover the napkins we were meant to use. There was something odd about them, however - they seemed to be stacked upside-down. An observer of the stacks could clearly note the existence of some kind of printing on the down-facing side. Taking it upon myself to discover the identity of the napkins, I turned one over to reveal... There, accompanying a small graphic of the American flag, were the words, "Happy Veteran's Day".
True story.
